About Voices of Nature
The purpose of the Voices of Nature Project is to promote an awareness
and appreciation for the wild places on our planet through audio
recordings and associated images. The project was initiated in 2000 by Paul Murphey, a paleontologist and
natural scientist with twenty years of experience in a wide variety of
studio and outdoor recording projects, and his wife Rosanne, a
zoologist. Together with audio engineer and graphic artist Steve
Hartman, the editing and mastering of the field recordings and images
takes place at Wake Thy Neighbor Studios in Longmont, Colorado. Voices
of Nature combines a love of nature and passion for natural history
with sound recording and imaging technologies.

Audio
Imaging Australia (Volume 1) is the first in our Voices of Nature
series, and features nature recordings of this fascinating continent
made at remote locations in Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, and
the Northern Territory. Unlike many other nature CD's, these sounds are
pure digital recordings, with no music and no overdubs. From the
tranquility of the pre-dawn coastal rainforest to the raucous cries of
Blue-winged Kookaburras at dusk, these audio images transport the
listener in a unique and powerful way, and make a wonderful gift for
any nature lover. The CD includes a 12 panel color leaflet with
photographs and descriptions of the environments where the recordings
were made. Watch for the next two CD's in the series, featuring the
amazing sounds of Costa Rica and Colorado. |
